Artist Statement

I have long been inspired by the potential of humanity to persevere through the harshest of circumstances. Inspired by the Japanese ceramic practice of kintsugi (repairing cracks/flaws with gold), “Unbroken” celebrates the triumph of the individual over their hardest trials in life. It poses the notion that we can be more beautiful, and grow into something greater, something harder to knock down, for having gone through such experiences.
